  1. Council Bluffs, Ia -- Council Bluffs Police catch another stolen vehicle (signal 5) today around 3pm 3/15/2021. The pictured vehicle was found at Harrahs Casino. The vehicle was seen pulling into Harrah's. Council Bluffs Police went into Harrah's to apprehend the suspected thieves. One was caught inside Harrah's and is in custody. Two males stepped out of the vehicle. The second suspect was found driving away from the Casino.
  2. The Omaha Police Department Auto Theft Unit has observed a spike in catalytic converter thefts in recent weeks, and detectives are actively working those cases. Thieves have been targeting domestic trucks and fleet vans (3/4 ton and 1 ton series) and other vehicles with a higher ground clearance, as it is easier to access the catalytic converters on those vehicles. Recent reports also indicate that certain foreign vehicle models are being specifically targeted, as the catalytic converters contain a higher percentage of precious metals. Council Bluffs, Ia -- On January 2, 2021 at 2:30 a.m. Council Bluffs dispatch received a call that 2 males at the Walgreens on North Broadway filled up 2 baskets of high dollar items that were wrapped in security packaging then fled out an emergency exit of the store. Once the 2 males exited the store they got into a Black Cadillac Escalade with Nebraska plates and fled west on Broadway.   4. Around 2 a.m. Council Bluffs Police pursued a stolen vehicle a short distance through Parkwild apartments that crashed at the end of the complex at the top. A call came into to dispatch a group of males in a red car was breaking out a window in a vehicle at Parkwild. When police arrived they attempted to flee. The suspects came to a dead end, wrecked and 2 fled. The third male in the car when it wrecked was pinned.   5. The following photographs are from burglaries that occurred to Zombie Tactical and Fort Crook Armory during the early morning hours of December 6, 2020. Multiple firearms and other items were stolen. If you recognize the suspects, please call Sarpy County Crimestoppers at (402) 592-STOP. We want to get these guns off the streets ASAP.

  7. United States Attorney Joe Kelly announced that Annette Eubanks, 62, of Omaha, Nebraska was sentenced today in federal court in Omaha for Theft from the Mail. Senior United States District Court Judge Laurie Smith Camp sentenced Eubanks to a 2-year term of probation. Eubanks was also ordered to pay $1,456 in restitution to 44 victims that were identified in the investigation. Eubanks was an employee of the United States Postal Service working in the postal sorting facility in Omaha.
