  2. Omaha Police responded to the 3200 block of North 28th Street at 2:37 a.m. Wednesday to investigate a Shotspotter alert. When officers arrived they located 36-year-old Mack Johnson who advised he was sitting in a parked vehicle when he was struck by gunfire. Another victim, 22-year-old Jamiaha McKaufman said she was inside her apartment when she was struck by the gunfire. Both victims' injuries are non-life threatening. There is no suspect information.   3. At 2:19 am Officers responded to the area of N 39th St and Ames Ave for a ShotSpotter activation that was upgraded to a shooting. Upon arrival Officers found an adult male victim deceased on scene, Timothy W. WASHINGTON III (06/18/1983). A short time later 2 adult female victims arrived at the Nebraska Medical Center by private vehicle. 33-year-old Melonie JENKINS and 21-year-old Danaija HUNTER were determined to be suffering from non-life-threatening injuries.   4. UPDATE: Tuesday, June 15th, 2021 Suspects Lerajai KEY and Terrance MOORE were both taken into custody without incident in the Kansas City Metro area today. They were arrested for their warrants related to the homicide. UPDATE: Saturday, June 5th, 2021 On Saturday, June 5th, Javondre MCINTOSH succumbed to his injuries and died.   5. At 3:45 p.m. Monday Omaha Police responded to the Nebraska Medical Center to investigate a cutting. Officers made contact with the victim, 19-year-old Brandon Moreno-Benitez, who said he met a male at a residence in the 5700 block of North 39th Street to purchase gaming equipment. The suspect, a black male in his teens, attempted to take money from Moreno-Benitez and then stabbed him. The victim's injuries are not life threatening. The investigation is ongoing. Upon arrival, officers met with a male victim who had puncture wounds to his leg and stated he was stabbed in the leg while waling along the Southbound side of US-75 by an unknown person. Upon arrival Officers spoke with employees who said the bank was robbed of an undisclosed amount of money by a suspect described as a black male wearing dark pants, white shirt, dark hat.   8. On Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at 7:12 p.m. officers responded to 18th and Binney Street to investigate a ShotSpotter alert of numerous gunshots. The call was then upgraded by dispatch to a shooting with one victim. Officers arrived and began life-saving measures on the victim until Omaha Fire Department medics arrived. OFD transported the victim to the Nebraska Medical Center in extremely critical condition with CPR in progress. The investigation is ongoing.   9. At 5:54 p.m. Tuesday officers responded to the 4800 block of North 31st Avenue to investigate a shooting. The caller advised there had been a car accident and someone had been shot. When officers arrived they located four victims. At this time it has been confirmed that one person was injured by gunfire.   10. On Sunday, May 16th, 2021 at 10:09 pm, Officers responded to 1009 S 28th St #1 for a CPR in progress. The victim, 22-year-old female Shaleigh SOVEY was suffering from a head injury and was transported to the Nebraska Medical Center with serious, life-threatening injuries. Suspect Devon ENGEL (06/10/98) was arrested and booked into Douglas County Corrections for 1st Degree Domestic Violence Assault and two counts of Felony Child Abuse/Neglect. On Tuesday, May 18th, 2021, SOVEY succumbed to her injuries and died. The investigation is ongoing and being conducted by the OPD Homicide Unit.

JACKSON was transported to the Nebraska Medical Center where it was determined his injuries were non-life-threatening. The investigation indicated JACKSON was shot at an unknown location and arrived at 2905 Laurel Ave by private vehicle. The investigation is ongoing.     Omaha shooting at 4943 S 98th Ave Cir

    At 12:00 am Officers responded to 4943 S 98th Ave Cir for a shooting. Upon arrival Officers contacted the victim, 46-year-old-male, Lonnie WILLIAMS suffering from apparent gunshot injuries. Lonnie WILLIAMS was transported to Bergan Mercy Hospital where it was determined his injuries were non-life-threatening. During the investigation the suspect was identified as Malik WILLIAMS (11/21/01), the son of Lonnie WILLIAMS, who was arrested on scene.   16. Joseph Knipe of Omaha was sentenced to 8 years prison for Distribution of Child Pornography. Following his release he will serve a 10 year term of supervised release and will be required to register as a sex offender. This matter was investigated by FBIOmaha. On October 31, 2019, agents executed a search warrant at Knipe’s residence in Omaha. Agents located a USB card containing about 105 images of child pornography. Omaha Man Sentenced to 130 Months for Drug Conspiracy: On May 28, Isaiah Nevins, 32, of Omaha, Neb., was sentenced to 130 months in prison, with a 5-year term of supervised release to follow, for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute 5 grams or more of pure meth.   18. Girlfriend Convicted of Concealing Person from Arrest: On May 26, Alyx M. O’Hare, 33, of Omaha, Neb., was found guilty, following a 2-day jury trial, for concealing a person from arrest.     Omaha Police Officer Involved Shooting Update

    Original Press release by OPD On Sunday, May 16, 2021 at 5:36pm, Omaha Police Officers were dispatched to 4107 S 41st Avenue for an assault in progress. Original 911 call details indicated a white male, in his 30s, was inside of the residence armed with a handgun and discharging the firearm.
