  1. Omaha, Ne -- 4/12/2021, Omaha Police responded to 10025 Ogden Plaza at 5:42 a.m. Monday to investigate a report of shots fired. Officers arrived, but did not locate a victim. A male victim arrived a short time later at Immanuel Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The victim was identified as 21-year-old Trevel Caldwell. The investigation is ongoing.   2. Omaha, Ne -- 4-10-2021, Omaha Police responded to the 3200 block of North 26th Avenue at 11:35 p.m. Saturday to investigate a ShotSpotter alert. While officers were en route, 911 received a call of a shooting. When officers arrived they located a female suffering from a gunshot wound. As officers continued to investigate, they eventually located a male victim inside an apartment. OFD medics transported the female victim, 28-year-old Dak Chudier, to the Nebraska Medical Center. The male victim, 29-year-old Buay Kang, refused medical services. Both victims' injuries are non-life threatening
  3. On April 5, Samuel Garcia, age 28, of Omaha, Neb., was sentenced to 60 months in prison after being convicted on 1 count of distribution of cocaine & 1 count of distribution of meth. He will serve a 5-year term of supervised release following his release from prison.
  4. Omaha Man Sentenced for Possession of a Single Image of Child Porn: On April 7, Daryl J. Penning, 56, of Omaha, Neb., was sentenced to 37 months in prison for possession of 1 image of child pornography. After his release from prison, Penning will begin a 5-year term of supervised release & will be required to register as a sex offender.   5. At 12:11 am Officers responded to 1630 Victor Ave for a shooting. Upon arrival Officers found 3 victims suffering from apparent gunshot injuries inside a vehicle parked in front of 1630 Victor Ave. The victims were 31-year-old Nicholas MARKER, 29-year-old Markese JOHNSON, and 29-year-old Tyrone KINCAID. All three victims were transported by ambulance to the Nebraska Medical Center where it was determined their injuries were non-life-threatening. The investigation is ongoing.     Robbery at Speedy Stop and Shop 2525 S 13th St.

    At 5:01 am Officers responded to the Speedy Stop and Shop at 2525 S 13th St for a robbery. Upon arrival Officers contacted the clerk who said that two male suspects entered the store, one stood by the door as a look out, the other approached the counter, brandished a firearm, and demanded cash. After receiving an undetermined amount of cash, both suspects fled on foot. One suspect was described as a Black male, wearing jeans and a black hooded sweatshirt, the other suspect was described as a Black male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and a black jacket.   7. Homicide-N 24th St/Emmett St RB#AR17605 At 2:56 am Officers responded to the area of N 24th St and Emmett St for a Shot Spotter activation. While en route the call was upgraded to a shooting. Officers arrived and located two adult male victims suffering from apparent gunshot injuries. Once victim was declared deceased on scene.   8. Shooting-N 52nd St/Sorensen Pkwy RB#AR17332 At 12:46 am Officers responded to the intersection of N 52nd St and Sorensen Pkwy for a 2 car accident. Shortly after the accident was upgraded to a shooting. Upon arrival Officers found a passenger in one of the vehicles, 43 year old Derrick MURRELL, suffering from apparent gunshot injuries. MURRELL said he was shot at a different location and was being driven to the hospital when the crash occurred. Acting United States Attorney Jan Sharp announced that James Joiner, 48, of Omaha, Nebraska, was found guilty on March 18, 2021, following a two-day jury trial in federal court for Attempted Enticement of a Minor. United States District Judge Brian C. Buescher scheduled Joiner’s sentencing for June 16, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. Joiner faces up to life in prison, with a mandatory minimum of ten years.   11. Omaha Police responded to a ShotSpotter alert at 3900 North 16th Street at 12:59 a.m. Wednesday. Upon arrival, officers observed two vehicles with damage from gunfire. Officers spoke with witnesses who said four or five black males dressed in dark clothing arrived on foot and began shooting. A short time later, a victim arrived at CUMC - University Campus, 2412 Cuming, with minor injuries. The victim was identified as 22-year-old Da'Marsell Miller. Miller told officers that he was in a vehicle when an unknown suspect began firing a gun in his direction. The investigation is ongoing.
  12. At 1:01 am Omaha advised they were pursuing a vehicle into Council Bluffs which had been stolen at gunpoint. Council Bluffs Police Officers headed to assist. Omaha had deployed a tire deflation device before coming into Council Bluffs disabling some of the vehicles tires. Friday, March 12th 2021, at 3:27pm, Officer Jeffrey Wittstruck #2268 and Officer Joseph Kunza #2304 were dispatched to the JC Penney's store at the Westroads Mall, 10000 California Street for a shoplifter who had been detained by store security. Officer Wittstruck arrived at JC Penney's and made contact with security employees and a male suspect, who was sitting in a chair inside the security office.   16. Omaha, Ne -- An Omaha Police Officer was shot today at JCPenny's in the Westroads Mall at about 4 pm. The incident started when Omaha Police were called for a shoplifter. According to Sherie Thomas of the Omaha Police Department, the suspect who shot the OPD Officer is in custody after a high speed chase. The pursuit started at 5:23pm at the Gretna interchange at mile marker 433. At 5:42 pm the suspect was taken into custody without any incident.   17. Omaha, Ne -- Omaha Police responded to 7500 North Ridge Drive at 9:12 a.m. Thursday to investigate a domestic violence assault. Officers spoke with the victim, 35-year-old Jack Payne, who said he was involved in an argument with his girlfriend at an apartment 4005 Hartman Circle. The argument escalated and the suspect stabbed Payne with a kitchen knife. Officers did not locate the suspect. The investigation is ongoing.   18. Update: The suspect has been identified as Victor Inigo (08/13/1996) of Omaha. The investigation continues. Omaha Police statement: On Thursday, March 11, 2021 at 5:15 a.m. Omaha Police officers responded to a call at Abbott Drive and Riverfront Drive to investigate reports of a naked male running in the street and damaging vehicles. When officers arrived they observed the suspect standing on the top of a semi tractor trailer.   19. Omaha Police responded to 9910 Maple Street at 7:25 p.m. Tuesday to investigate a shooting. Officers arrived and located the victim, 40-year-old Bobby Walker, suffering from a gunshot wound. Walker stated that he was shot while walking in the area. The suspect is possibly a black male with dreadlocks, driving a light blue sedan.   20. Omaha Police responded to 4153 Hamilton Street at 2:44 a.m. Tuesday to investigate a cutting. Officers found the victim, 19-year-old Arianna Stout at a nearby residence. Stout told officers that her boyfriend struck her with a bat and cut her with a knife. The suspect fled in Stout's car.   21. Shooting at 24th and Pratt Street Omaha Police responded to 24th and Pratt Street at 8:29 p.m. Monday to investigate a ShotSpotter alert of multiple gunshots. Officers arrived and located 31-year-old Quentin Evans on the sidewalk suffering from gunshot wounds. OFD medics transported Evans to the Nebraska Medical Center in critical condition. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening. The investigation is ongoing.   22. Update 03/08/2021: An arrest has been made in this shooting. On Sunday, March 7, 2021 officers located the suspect, 25-year-old Justin Rashad near 43rd and Emmet Street. Officers booked Rashad at Douglas County Corrections for 1st-degree felony assault and use of a weapon to commit a felony. Omaha Police responded to 135 North 35th Street at 9:43 p.m. Monday regarding a "nature unknown" call. When officers arrived they located 59-year-old Sabir Rashad who was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. OFD medics transported Rashad to the Nebraska Medical Center with a non-life threatening

    Omaha Police respond to Shooting 1817 N 33rd St

    Shooting-1817 N 33rd St At 1:35 pm Officers responded to NBH Grocery at 1817 N 33rd St for a shooting. While on scene, a shooting victim arrived by private vehicle at Immanuel Hospital. Officers contacted the victim, 19-year-old male Dtavionte PERRY, who was suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot injury. PERRY said he was standing in front of NBH Grocery at 1817 N 33rd when he heard gunshots and realized he had been struck by gunfire. The investigation is ongoing.   24. At 0518 hours 6 Mar 21, officers responded to 26 & L St. for a two vehicle personal injury crash. A 2007 Nissan Altima was proceeding eastbound on L St. at a high rate of speed in the left lane. The Nissan attempted to swerve to the left around a 2014 VW Jetta that was also in the left lane. The Nissan struck the center median and also side swiped the VW. The Nissan then struck the north side of OFD Fire Station 31 where it came to rest. Both occupants of the Nissan were transported to Nebraska Medicine by OFD Medics. The crash is under investigation at this time. The
