    Omaha Police has identified homicide victim

    On Thursday, June 10, 2021 at 2:19 a.m. Omaha Police responded to a ShotSpotter alert of multiple gunshots in the 5700 block of North 33rd Avenue. Officers arrived and located a male victim who had been struck by the gunfire. Officers attempted CPR until OFD medics arrived. OFD transported the victim to the Nebraska Medical Center where he later succumbed to his injuries. The investigation is ongoing.   8. A Sarpy County resident, Ross S. Lorello III, was booked into the Douglas County Jail on suspicion of criminal homicide against Mickey Sodoro and use of a firearm to commit a felony. Mickey Sodoro, was a real estate agent with NP Dodge and had been missing since Monday night. According to the Douglas County Sheriff, Sodoro died of a gunshot wound. UPDATE 12/29/2020: The Omaha Police Department was advised by the US Marshals Service that a fugitive task force unit near Atlanta Georgia was serving a warrant for wanted homicide suspect Jaquan HAYNES in relation to the Nomi HERRERA homicide in Omaha. While serving the warrant at a residence in Atlanta, gunfire was exchanged and an individual believed to be Jaquan Haynes was struck and died of his injuries.   13. Wednesday December 16th, 2020, Louis French Jr was sentenced to prison for his role in the killing of 55-year-old Kelly Barges. Judge Shelly Stratman sentenced French to 64 to 82 years in prison. The three others in the apartment are awaiting sentencing for their roles in Barges murder.   14. Cold Case Homicide Arrest : Bernard Turner was booked into Douglas County Corrections on his warrant for First Degree Murder. The Omaha Police Homicide Unit Cold Case Squad has made an arrest in the homicide of Julius VAUGHN (2/7/94) that occurred on October 18, 2013 at 3219 S. 23rd Street. After extensive follow up by the OPD Cold Case Squad, a 1st Degree Murder warrant was issued for Bernard TURNER (6/16/95) on November 12th 2020.   16. On Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at 8:15 p.m. Omaha Police Officers in the area of 40th Avenue and Bedford heard gunshots north of their location. Dispatch then advised of a shooting call to the 3500 block of North 40th Avenue. Officers arrived and found an adult female unresponsive. The victim was later identified as 25-year-old Ashlon Wilson.     Homicide North 18th Street and Spencer Omaha, Ne

    On Tuesday, September 15th, 2020 at 8:08 pm Officers responded to a Shotspotter activation in the 1800 block of Spencer St. Upon arrival Officers found the victim, 31 year old male Tremayne JENNINGS, in his vehicle suffering from gunshot injuries. The victim vehicle had struck a parked car and fence before coming to rest. JENNINGS was transported by ambulance to Nebraska Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. The investigation is on-going. He was booked on warrants which included 2 counts of first degree murder and gun possession by a prohibited person.     Omaha Homicide: 2705 North 45th Street

    On July 31st at 09:39 am Officers responded to 2705 N. 45th St. for an unknown disturbance. While en route dispatch advised that there was a party down in the driveway. Upon arrival Officers located a male victim that appeared to be suffering from life-threatening Injuries.
