Grab the family and head to River’s Edge for Summer Fest this Saturday! Council Bluffs Parks and Recreation is pleased to present Summer Fest at Rivers Edge, a free event with outdoor activities the whole family will enjoy! Summer Fest at River’s Edge takes place at Tom Hanafan Park on Saturday, June 19, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Summer Fest activities include a bounce house, a 45’ obstacle course, a 65’ three-lane obstacle course, free face painting, lawn games, an on-site coloring contest, a chalk art mural project, and prize drawings!
A live DJ will be cranking out the jams, and concessions will be available from Jimmy’s Hot Dogs, Cool Penguin Shaved Ice, and Mr. Ice Cream.
Thanks to our sponsors, JEO Consultant and Family Inc., we will also have free beach balls and free cotton candy for the first 300 people.
“Tom Hanafan Park is the perfect place for events like Summer Fest,” said Mayor Matt Walsh. “Residents of all ages are invited to come down to the park, grab a bite to eat, and enjoy a summer afternoon. Then, depending on your interests, you can take a leisurely walk around the park enjoying the sights and sounds or burn off some energy while scrambling through an obstacle course.”
Admission to Summer Fest is free. Kids will receive a raffle ticket for every activity in which they participate. Prize drawings will occur throughout the event. The more activities an individual participates in, the more chances they have to win. Prizes include t-shirts, Frisbees, water bottles, beach towels, and more!
