Iowa Law Enforcement agencies team up to slow traffic violators

Thursday evening and early Friday morning Council Bluffs Police, Iowa State Patrol and the Pottawattamie County Sheriffs division teamed up to slow the large amount of traffic violations occurring in Council Bluffs.

Metro News Now was on scene at Broadway to witness driver infractions that ranged from driving with no headlights on, speeding, no license plates, expired plates OWI and more.

Issues like driving without headlights on at night is dangerous and can lead to accidents and is particularly disturbing. While some drivers it could be labeled as a simple mistake, other drivers trying to avoid being seen or stopped by police use this method for several reasons.

Council Bluffs police in the past weeks have stepped up traffic patrols. Last week one Nebraska driver that got pulled over by CBPD with 3 occupants had cocaine and marijuana on them. 2 of the occupants were taken to jail and charged.

Thanks to CBPD, Mike Wesack ISP and Steve Winchell Pottawattamie County S/O

    • 101 traffic citations
    • 80 warnings
    • 2 warrant arrests
    • 1 OWI
