    Woman pulled from burning vehicle after leading high speed chase with Pottawattamie County Sheriff


    Council Bluffs, Ia -- At around 2:15 pm a female suspect failed to stop for a Pottawatttamie County Sheriff near Crescent , Ia for a traffic infraction.

    According to Sgt, Christopher Weber of the Pottawattamie County's Sheriffs Division 



    "The pursuit ended about an half mile inside Harrison County from Old Lincoln Hwy. 


    The suspect lost control and had a single vehicle accident. At that point the vehicle was on fire and the deputies pulled the suspect out. She has since been transported.

    The Iowa State Patrol is handling the investigation and another investigation is pending from the Pottawattamie County Sheriff's Division."



    As Metro News Now arrived, Life-net could be seen coming in to take the woman to a local Hospital. At this point the suspects condition is unknown.

    Missouri Valley Fire and Rescue were called to the scene and Crescent Fire and Rescue was called in for mutual aid as the suspect's vehicle was fully engulfed.

    According to scanner relays, the woman hit a pole at a high rate of speed.

    Both Pottawattamie County Sheriff's and the Iowa State Patrol were on scene.

    Due to the scene being under investigation, Metro News Now couldn't access the scene that was about a mile down from our location on Old Lincoln Hwy.


    Investigations of this nature take some time. During these investigations drones are used to map the area and scene.

    We appreciate the Pottawattamie County Sheriff taking the time out to fill us in and speak with us.
