Omaha Police respond to cutting at 3740 North 42nd Street

Omaha Police responded to 3740 North 42nd Street at 10:05 p.m. Monday to investigate a domestic disturbance. Officers found the victim, 67-year-old Carl Gunnels, and the suspect, 52-year-old Lisa Collins. Officers discovered that both parties were involved in a verbal argument that escalated when Collins stabbed Gunnels with a kitchen knife. 

Officers took Collins into custody and booked her at Douglas County Corrections for felony domestic violence assault and use of a weapon to commit a felony.

Gunnels refused medical transport, but had a family member transport him to the Nebraska Medical Center for treatment.
