    Man arrested in 20th and Maple Street shooting


    Omaha Police responded to 20th and Maple Street at 10:06 p.m. Saturday to investigate a shooting. When officers arrived, they located 31-year-old Deandre Jimerson suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Jimerson advised that he was shot during an altercation at a convenience store at 2704 Florence Boulevard. 

    OFD medics transported Jimerson to the Nebraska Medical Center in critical condition. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening. 


    UPDATE: Tuesday, April 6th, 2021

    OPD Assault Unit Detectives identified the suspect in this case. Gilbert MCCABE (11/04/77) was arrested without incident and booked into Douglas County Corrections for 2nd Degree Felony Assault, Use of a Weapon to Commit a Felony, and Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person.
