Council Bluffs wanted man runs from police, gets caught in the street sewer

Council Bluffs, Ia -- Around 4:30 p.m. A wanted man showed up at Arrow Towing after police towed one of his family members cars to retrieve it.

Police were notified and went to pick him up for his warrant. When police showed up the wanted suspect ran, then jumped into a sewer drainage channel to elude Council Bluffs, Iowa Police.

Council Bluffs Police called in a K9 to track the suspect. The suspect from the main run-off channel then took a street tunnel and ended up a few blocks away from where he started.

Council Bluffs police threatened to send in the K9, the man then replied he was in the tunnel and hurt his ankle. Council Bluffs Police went in after him and arrested him.

Council Bluffs Fire and Rescue then assisted the police in bringing both them and the suspect out of the sewer drainage channel.

The suspect was arrested and taken to Pottawattamie County Jail in Council Bluffs, Ia
