3 Arrested in Council Bluffs for stolen vehicles, guns, drugs, eluding and more

On 11/25/2020 around 8:30 a.m. Officers received information about a stolen vehicle in the block of 1800 Ave C.

Council Bluffs Police coordinated an approach while three subjects were outside the stolen truck.

Upon arrival suspect Joshua Holmes entered the driver seat of a 2005 Chevy Silverado and attempted to flee. the Chevy Silverado was blocked in by Police vehicles and couldn't escape.

Suspect Dalton Holland jumped from the bed of the truck and ran on foot. Dalton Holland was apprehended by PSD K-9 Olaf and his handler. 

A third suspect, Javon Smith, ran from the passenger side of the Chevy Silverado. Javon was located about 2 blocks away and was apprehended.

Suspect Joshua Holmes had 2 loaded handguns on his person and was wearing a ballistics vest. Two more handguns were found in the Chevy Silverado. 

A second truck, a 2018 Dodge Ram 1500 was on location and was confirmed stolen.

Joshua Holmes, 25, from Council Bluffs, Iowa was charged with:

• Theft 1st
• Possession of controlled substance - Methamphetamine
• Felon in possession of a firearm
• Fugitive from justice
• Interference with official acts
• Possession of drug paraphernalia

Dalton Holland, 29, from Omaha, Nebraska was charged with:

• Theft 2nd
• Felon in possession of a firearm
• Eluding a police officer
• Interference with official acts

Javon Smith, 22, from Omaha Nebraska was charged with:

• Felon in possession of a firearm
• Eluding a police officer
• interference with official acts

All 3 were booked into the Pottawattamie County Jail
